I designed this prop to aid in visual storytelling in a few key ways. The main character of the show has dyslexia and struggles with reading. It was important to be able to be able to get the idea of what this item is via the illustrations. The title needed to be created so that the post-production team could manipulate it easily to appear scrambled, and then come into focus. It was a treat that Betty, the star of the show was scripted to find the test!

In the final scene of Season 1 of Will Trent a coffee machine provides the backdrop for an emotional moment between two of the main characters. I chose to create a skin for the machine that looked like it had been in the hospital for at least a decade or two. It was important to leave a clear space for the scripted shot of the reflections within the design.

False walls with photo collage for a nightclub set

I designed a wrapper for a tampon to be included in a toiletry bag. This was one of my favorite items I worked on. The dusty-mauve color really sold the era for me!

Tight scheduling created a need to build a stage set for the bathroom scenes of a courthouse location. I worked closely with the Jr. Art Director for color matches and layout and the Set Designer helped us calculate how much material we needed to order. I created a terrazzo style tile in Illustrator and recolored it to fit the light, dark and midtone tiles. I used a limited pantone color palette to aid the print shop in getting us a good color match back. The end result was a little greener in the finished shot than the original.
